Our Story
Bà Năm Restaurant is more than a place to eat — it's a living memory of a Vietnamese grandmother's kitchen. Named after Bà Năm, who first served steaming bowls of phở in Tây Ninh, our restaurant is a heartfelt tribute to her legacy.
Reimagined in Adelaide by her grandson, Bà Năm brings the original flavours, slow-simmered broths, and soulful recipes to a new generation. No shortcuts, because every spoonful should taste like home.
"We don't just serve food. We serve memory, one bowl at a time."
Passed down through generations, unchanged since the 1970s.
Bone broth simmered for 18 hours, the way Bà Năm always made it.
North, Central, and South Vietnam — all on one table.
Modern comfort wrapped in the soul of a family kitchen.

Phở Tái — The Dish Behind the TÁI CLUB
Paper-thin slices of fresh marbled beef, laid over the noodles raw, then cooked in seconds by boiling 18-hour bone broth. Three moments, photographed in our Grote Street kitchen during a real service.
Fresh beef, sliced so thin the marbling shows through, draped over the noodles by hand. No pan. No grill.
Beef balls, chả, onion: every bowl built to order and lined up while the broth pots roll at a boil.
Boiling 18-hour bone broth hits the beef and cooks it in seconds, leaving it pink, tender and ready by your first bite.
